The Control Unit is an OEM component specifically designed for select Bosch dishwashers. It directs all cycle functions through an integrated circuit board and wiring harness. Precise monitoring optimizes cleaning results.

Symptoms of a faulty control unit involve cycles failing to complete, or washing/drying not commencing as selected. Water leaks from long-term interior dampness exposure require replacement.

Causes of a bad control unit commonly relate to regular wear from extended usage. Component degradation over time inhibits dependable cycle progression necessitating a change.

Symptoms of a bad control unit include:

  • Partial or incomplete cycles leaving dishes unclean
  • Inoperative cycle/setting buttons and unresponsive display
  • Faulty cycle monitoring resulting in improper cleaning

This OEM Bosch part is also compatible with some Thermador, Siemens, and Miele dishwashers.

Questions & Answers

For Bosch Control Unit (Part Number: OEM11531634)

The Bosch dishwasher has a moisture sensor, (flood sensor), in the bottom assembly that will shut off the units' ability to do anything but drain out. The drain pump will run as long as the moisture is sensed and nothing else will work on the unit until the moisture under there is dried up. Normally what I see in this case is a bad water inlet valve 00425458. Occasionally, there will be a leak around a hose or seal but this is a situation where a technician has to "clamshell" the unit to gain enough access to locate the leak. Since the water inlet valve is the most common failure, I would change it before calling anyone for the more extensive repair. Also, while the old water valve is out, before you install the new one, I use this opening with a towel or paper towels to dry up the water that is in the base already. Doing so will enable the unit to operate again. You can, if you desire, leave the water valve off for a day or so with a fan blowing into the base to evaporate the moisture. This takes a while if there is water puddled in there so if this is the method you want to use, wick the majority out with the corner of a towel then use the air flow method to dry out the remaining moisture.

Hi Ron. The control board assembly is included in the control panel area. It will have relays on it that will do the same issue as you described. The control board is part # 00496013. Thank you.
