The Bake Igniter is an OEM part for Bosch wall ovens and ranges. Located at the bottom of the oven cavity, it generates the radiant heat needed to initiate the bake burners.

Causes of a bad bake igniter can include failure of the delicate calrod-style heating element from prolonged high-temperature exposure over time.

Symptoms of a bad bake igniter include:

  • Inability to ignite or maintain ignition of the bake burners
  • Improperly or unevenly heated oven cavity
  • Cool or cold spots appearing on bake results
  • Igniter glows, but fails to ignite

This genuine OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau and select Kenmore models.

Hello George, If the ignitor is glowing yellow to white hot, there will be an issue with the gas valve. I can list the gas valve part number if you could please provide the model number from the units' I.D. tag.

Dikali48, If all of the igniters went out at the same time thin the issue may be a bad spark module for the unit. The unit not going into a self clean would most likely be the latch assembly. The model number listed is not coming up as a valid and we would need to have the correct model to be able to assist properly. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx
