The Cabinet Side Seals are an OEM part for Bosch dishwashers. These seals are located along the sides of the dishwasher cabinet and play a crucial role in preventing water leaks and maintaining an airtight seal during operation.

Causes of a bad seal can include general wear and tear over time, exposure to high temperatures or moisture, or damage from mishandling or improper installation.

Symptoms of a bad Cabinet Side Seal include:

  • Water leaks or moisture buildup around the sides of the dishwasher
  • Difficulty closing the dishwasher door properly
  • Decreased efficiency in drying performance
  • Potential for water damage to surrounding areas

This OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore models.

Miriam, When installing the trim you have to make sure that you are screwing the trim to the cabinet. If not the trim will bow inward and not allow for the door to close without moving the trim.

After installing the trim strips, you cannot latch the dishwasher front door. The original trim strips were damaged when trying to remove the dishwasher, since they were captive to the metal edge of the cabinet - and even if you removed the retaining screws - the trim strips could not be removed until after the unit was removed from the kitchen cabinet. I've looked at the new design of the trim strips carefully. There is a flap on the left (or right as the case may be, depending which side of the dishwasher the strip is installed)- a hard rubber rectangular "center" where the screw holes are along the strip, and a "curl" on the right that covers the screws when in place. There is also a cut-out for the door hing. In looking at the instructions, the close in view is not detailed enough for me to determine proper placement. It would seem that this would be an easy thing to install, so I must be missing something. Do I have the correct part? Or is there some special orientation that they have to be installed so that the door can close?

Hello Dougls. Make sure the strips 00740617 are installed with the lip on the tub assembly inside the lip on the strips. These should not prevent the door from latching if installed properly. You may need to un-install the dishwasher to install the strips.
