Jim October 19, 2021 for Model Number she3ar72uc After getting no water, I replaced the fill valve and run it ~9 times. 2x I got E17, but not in the last 4-5 runs. It does not disssolve the detergent pod. I have pulled the unit out and I can watch the water streaming into the unit. Opening the door afterwards is steamy so it is getting hot (not sure the temperature). I need some guidance on what/how to test/try next or looking at just replacing the unit. Thanks for any help
1 Answer Jim, the error E17 is going to indicate that the safety float was activated during a fill cycle. If the water filled enough to cause the float in the tub to rise, or if an item was stuck underneath it, the error code will show. If it has not continued, it is likely that the float was stuck upwards enough but has settled into the down position. In regards to the detergent pods not dissolving, this can occur if the hot water is not primed at the sink first as it will cause the dishwasher to have to heat the water up to temperature. If the hot water is being primed, the next step would be identifying if the circulation motor is providing enough pressure to circulate the wash arms and if a wash arm jet is clogged or if there are any cracks. Jim October 13, 2021 for Model Number she3ar72uc I was getting almost no water. Diagnosed as fill valve, but not 100% sure. Had sears tech out and confirmed by sound, but he did not have part and availability for 2+ weeks. I got the part from you and replaced. Now there is some water going in, but the detergent pack is not melting and of the 5-6 times we've tried running it, I get an E17 error. PLEASE HELP!
1 Answer Jim, Getting the E17 error, indicates no water coming into the unit. Make sure that the water is turned on, make sure that there is 120 vac getting to the valve. If there is not power to the valve then it will be a faulty control board. Read More...
