I followed your advice re checking the voltage at the transformer between L1 and N and indeed there is 120 volts. I went further and based on a service pamphlet that came with the unit, it said that the J2 plug (coming from JI on the board with the transformer) is where power comes to the clock/timer control board. Positions 14 and 15 were said to be AC power and position 1 was ground. The voltage at that point was 2.9 volts AC (measured using a cheap Radio-Shack multi-meter on the 200 V scale). Is this reasonable or should I question the transformer's health? What I'm getting at is do I need the clock/timer board for sure or is it possible the board with the transformer needs to be replaced? I'm guessing the former.

Leigh, The transformer should read approximately 20 vac and if only reading 2.9 then the transformer would be the problem.

Hello Leigh, You will want to check to see if you are getting 120 vac between L1 and N on the clock assembly. If you are not getting this voltage then you will want to look for a thermal cut off that may be causing issue. If there is 120 vac then the clock is bad and would need to be replaced.

Hello Betty. Check the thermal switch 318004900 and make sure it is good. Check and make sure there is 240 volts coming to the unit. If so, and the wires look good, you will need to order and replace the relay boards 318022002 and 318022001 in the unit.

Hello Larry, You will want to check the oven sensor and make sure that the sensor is good. You should have an ohm reading of 1090 ohms at room temp. If the sensors check ok then you would want to check the control board for loss of power across the bake to L1 and Broil to L1. Any loss of power would indicate a bad relay in the board.

James I for Model Number Frigidaire GLEB 27T

The lower oven does not heat-neither element works. Checked for power from the lower relay board on bake and nothing at bake relay or at bake element. I did check the lower oven thermal trip and have continuity through it, and pushed red button and it does not appear to be tripped. Not sure how to check power to the relay board. I previosuly replaced the upper oven relay board and as i recall both the upper and lower ovens worked initially. When i start bake on the upper oven it only powers the bake element, no power to broil, and as said above, no power to lower broil or bake element. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Hello James. Based on the information you provided, if the wiring is good, you will need to replace the lower relay board on the unit.

The bottom oven works fine. The top oven takes a long time to heat. The lower element is not getting hot in the bake mode but the top one is. I think the top one should only warm up in broil mode. (Could be wrong) The touch pads all work, the clock works. I have swapped out the lower elements from the bottom oven to the top oven and it still doesn't work. The bottom oven lower element glows red so I know it wasn't a bad element. I have checked the top oven sensor and got a reading of 1148 ohms. Which part do I need to replace or what should I check for next?

1 Answer

Hello Pete. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the upper oven relay board 318022002 is bad and needs to be replaced.
