Richard October 17, 2018 for Model Number FGB24S5ABA When I press BROIL the oven works normally. When I press BAKE the igniter doesn’t come on, but smoke comes pouring out of the upper vent. The only thing up there that, I think, can smoke that way is the circuit board. Am I right about that? I have not opened it up yet. Is there anything else behind that upper panel? With all that smoke I’m surprised anything works.
1 Answer Richard, This does sound likely that the control board could be the issue but would suggest opening and checking the wiring of the unit to make sure that it is not damaged. Read More...
John B. February 24, 2017 for Model Number FGB24S5DCA When I press bake and set the oven temperature the oven will not light and gives a F3 code. What part needs replacing?
1 Answer Hello John, The F3 code indicates a failed oven temperature probe 316217002. This can be tested with an ohm meter for 1090 ohms at 77 degrees and will add 2 ohms for every 1 degree of temperature increase. This can be tested at the probe connections first, then at the control board. Comparing the two readings will indicate if a problem exists in the harness. If the test is good and the probe does not go open when tapped on, replace the control 318185431. Otherwise, replace the probe 316217002. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
R-Dog February 03, 2014 for Model Number fgb24s5aba With either bake or broil the oven never heats, both oven and pre-heat LED stay on, nothing happens. I have tested the thermal fuse, both ignitors, both sides of the gas valve, and the temp probe all for continuity. All are ok. I suspect the control panel. Anymore suggestions?
1 Answer Hello R-dog. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control board 318185431 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
Mrs. T September 20, 2012 for Model Number FGB24S5ABB My oven randomly beeps, and the clock resets to 12:00 and flashes, the way it would when there is a power outage. It takes a few tries to reset the clock before it stops going back to flashing 12:00. It is also intermittently doing the same thing when baking. I set the temp, and while pre-heating, the oven turns off and the clock flashes 12:00. Would this be the electronic control?
1 Answer Hello Mrs. T. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the clock 318185431 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Gene September 07, 2012 for Model Number FGB24S5DCD We continue to get F1 and F3 codes from the control panel, even after we installed a new replacement control panel. We have unplugged the wall oven from the electrical plug for at least 5 minutes to reset and the error still occurs. The error will also occur even when the oven is off. Any suggestions on what to do next?
1 Answer Hello Gene, The F-3 code indicates a bad sensor or the wiring between the sensor and the control or a bad control. The F-1 fault code means the control has failed. Be aware also that the new control can be bad. If you could call our call center, we will set up the delivery of another new part at no charge. We appreciate your business and confidence in our business. Read More...
