For Frigidaire Freezer Electronic Control Panel Touch Pad (Part Number: OEM11313942)

Bruce, Check the evaporator coils to make sure that they are not frozen over. If they are not then the control board would be an issue. The control board being an electronic part would not be returnable if it is installed.

Temperature stopped displaying about a year ago but everything worked fine (kept freezer frost free and at 7 degrees F). Then we moved and when I restarted this upright freezer, it runs continuously, getting down to -20dgrees F. I've been told this part could be the problem or the thermostat doesn't work. Any way to tell which is the problem without just buying parts and trying them out? If I buy a part and that doesn't seem to be the problem, can I return it? And is there a restocking or other fee? Thanks.

Roy, the thermistor 297018400 can be tested for resistance to identify if it has failed. The thermistor should measure 10K Ohms at 77 degrees. If it tests good, the main control 216979700 would be the cause of failure. The following link can be used to view our return policy. https://www.appliancepartspros.com/customerservice/returns.aspx

Freezer was working fine then temperature display on the front (top center) door started to rise up in temperature to 25 degrees C (canadian model) even though it's set for 0 degrees C but it would go back down. Freezer continued to keep cold by pushing the FF button (fast freeze) but eventually stopped keeping cold. I feel it's either the control board where the LED is displayed or the thermistor but not sure which part to order. Any suggestions ?

1 Answer

Anthony, This will most likely be the control board. It sounds likely that the unit is sticking in the defrost cycle and causing the temperatures to rise and this would be caused by the control board.

Randy T, Based on the model number the control could get moisture on it if there were a void in the insulation or the gasket was leaking air near its location. It could also come from condensation if the freezer is located in a nonconditioned air room or garage. 216979600

Andy for Model Number 25316082106

Our freezer keeps turning itself off. The compressor does run and cools the unit while on. We have been able to "force" the unit to run by pressing the down button on the user control display board (216979600) which will lower the temp until the unit turns itself off again. There appears to have been a short in the electronic control panel (#2169769700), we replaced this original part with a new last week. The problem persists. When the unit starts to shut itself off the temp control display rapidly flashes through numbers and then displays OFf. The freezer may stay on for one or more hours, few minutes or not. It's sort of random. I think the problem is in the display module, but not sure how to get this part out. There are no screws under the display cover (I double checked). Do I have to disassemble the interior plastic liner of the door to get this out?

1 Answer

Andy, it is recommended that the wires are inspected for any loose connections or broken sections. If the wires check good, then it is very likely that the user interface control 216979600 is the cause. The overlay 297412600 would need to be peeled from the user panel to access two screws securing the panel to the door. Removing these screws will allow for the interface control to be removed.

Jason, Unfortunately, the wiring is not available separately and you would need to get the door panel which is part number 216526566.

Jason, If that control is receiving voltage [error message in display] and is erratic then it would need to be replaced. Probably internal components of the control. 216979600

Russell, it is recommended that the wires at the hinge, user interface 216979600, and main control 216979700 are inspected for any loose connections or broken sections. If there are no issues found with the wires, the main control can be tested to see if it is sending any voltage to the interface using the four-wire connector with the blue, yellow, black, and red wires. If there is not a voltage output, the main control has failed. If there is a voltage output, there is a bad wire that would need to be traced out.
