Hello Roy, As per the owners' manual: To turn off the freezer, press the DOWN (v) symbol until the display shows "0". To activate the freezer, press UP (A) until display shows "4" or desired setting. To keep the temperature setting from being accidentally changed, the control may be locked. This is done by pressing the "Alarm Reset" for 3 seconds. "~" will then appear on display. To unlock the control, press "Alarm Reset" for 3 seconds. For the first second, "U" will appear, and then the current temperature will appear.
