The Coil Burner Element is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire cooktops and ranges. The 6-inch coil burner element typically consists of a spiral-shaped metal resistance wire or rod that glows red-hot when electricity passes through it. This heat is then transferred to the cooktop surface, allowing it to reach the desired temperature for various cooking tasks, such as boiling, simmering, or sautéing.

Symptoms of a bad coil burner element:

  • Burner not heating up properly or failing to reach the desired temperature
  • Uneven heating or hot spots on the cooktop surface
  • Visible damage or breaks in the coil wire
  • Unusual smells or burning odors emanating from the burner area

Causes of a bad coil burner element can include mechanical failure, electrical malfunctions, or simply reaching the end of its lifespan due to repeated heating and cooling cycles.

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore cooktops and ranges.

Tim, When using the cooktop or oven the range will get hot due to the heat radiating from either the top or the oven. The oven vents out of the front of the unit and will cause the heat to rise and cause the top to be hot. The surface elements radiate heat when cooking and there fore the top will be hot. Also if you are using oversize pots for the burner it will cause this as well.

MJM, That's one way of designating the different elements. But the elements are usually designated by size 6 in. vs 8 in. in overall width. The number of coils isn't quite accurate enough. The 318372211 / 5303015210 is the 6 in. coil element and, the 5308011964 / 5308011964 is the 8 in. coil element for the model number you supplied. The 6 in. coil element is out of stock and would require a few extra days(5-10) to order and deliver the part, once the order is placed and processed. Thanks,
