Tim October 23, 2021 for Model Number LGHC2342LF2 Just bought replacement module 242074218 because the previous part wouldn't allow the ice door to open. New part does the same thing. Watching it actuate, it triggers the solenoid and the door kicks open, but the catch pin either isn't catching or isn't positioned in the correct place to allow the door to fully open and then be caught. It actually might be blocking the ice door from opening because it isn't sliding up the angled plastic to slide behind the catch. Any advice on making that work as intended?
1 Answer Tim, it would be recommended that the module is inspected to ensure that there is not an item that may have gotten caught in between the solenoid actuator arm and the housing as this can cause the door to not open properly. Read More...
Glenn December 03, 2020 for Model Number FPHF2399MF3 Replaced module 242074206 with 242074218. Seems to operate, however once I dispense Ice the fridge beeps until I switch back to the water mode. The previous part did not do this.

1 Answer Ron, with the ice bin removed and the door switch taped in the closed position, the auger motor 241816602 will need to be inspected for rotation when the ice dispense button is pressed. If it does not rotate, then the auger motor can be tested for voltage by accessing the main control and testing for 120VAC at connection J3 pin 3 when the dispenser is pressed. If there is 120VAC, and the door switch is operating properly, then the issue would be in the auger motor. Read More...
