Sheryl Bice July 27, 2012 for Model Number 253.76832400 My refrigerator is a Kenmore and the ice maker will go through the steps but is not getting water to the ice maker. When it goes to fill up water comes out the water dispenser on the door and goes on the floor. We bought a new filter but that doesn't seem to work either. If I take off the filter cup (for lack of correct term) I can press the button on the door and water fills a glass. When I reattach the filter cup the water will flow for a short time (from the door) then it stops. The ice maker made two dumps of ice after I defrosted it and hasn't made any today. Any advice?

Melanie R. July 11, 2012 for Model Number FRS20ZRGW1 Hello, My Water dispenser began to dispense slowly and then stop altogether. The ice then stopped. I defrosted the freezer and now it is making ice. However, the water will not come out. It gets to the Pure Source filter and I have gotten it to produce about a glassful of water out of the door, then nothing. At present I do not have a filter cartridge in, as I thought that maybe it was bad and have not went out to buy another one. Can you help. Thanks for this site. 1 Answer Hello Melanie. You need to remove the water line from the bottom of the freezer door. Then test the dispenser and see if the water is coming out down there. If so, the water line in the freezer door is frozen and will need to be thawed out. if there is no water there, remove the line from the valve and see if you get water out of the valve. If not, replace the water valve 218832401 on the unit. If there is water there, then the filter head 218904404 may be bad and need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...

Since I have had "water troubles" in the fridge I suspect there is a difference. Is there? Thanks.

However, from what we have available here is what I am able to verify: WFCB (wfcb) is manufactured for products before 2001 and does not come with the o-ring. This is an all white filter.
