Hello Eric, and thank you for your question. Since you’ve already replaced the fresh food thermistor and confirmed that the freezer is working properly with airflow present, the most likely cause at this point would be a failure in the main control board 5303918506. The board is responsible for managing cooling cycles and airflow between compartments, so if it’s not operating correctly, it can cause the fresh food section to stay too warm even when everything else seems functional.

Hello Ric, thank you for contacting APP, This sounds like either the freezer's SENSOR,TEMPERATURE,10K,NTC 240597220 / 240597220 or the defrost temp sensor on the Harness-Low Side 5304521285 / 5304521285 are reading out of range and causing defrost issues.

Mookie, the specific thermistor would be dependent on which display the error is showing in. If it is in the refrigerator temperature display, it is the refrigerator thermistor circuit that may have the failure. If it is showing in the freezer temperature display, the same would be occurring for the freezer thermistor circuit. The thermistors can be tested for resistance to identify if they are open or have resistance. If one is open, it has failed and would need to be replaced. If there is resistance, the main control 5304502780 would be the likely cause of failure.

Sheila, with the power supply turned off, the oven sensor should be able to be removed from inside of the oven without having to move the oven out. The wire can carefully be pulled through to get the connector out enough to disconnect the original sensor. However, if the connector will not feed into the oven, the appliance would need to be pulled out to access it from the back.

Les for Model Number FFHN2740PS1

My refrigerator is warm, but the freezer temp is fine. I believe the issue is with the damper system, as when I remove the damper entirely, the fridge becomes freezing cold. The resistance of the thermistor at room temperature is about 8400 ohms. I have power on the BRN/YEL & RED/YEL wires going to the damper, so I believe the main board is ok. When I plug in the fridge, the damper closes and opens 3x with the last time staying completely open, although the fridge has warmed from the doors being open. Is there anything else I should check? I read the thermistor should be 5k ohms @ room temp, so is the 8.4K too far out of range or could that be the issue?

Les, Based on this information, the damper control will most certainly be the cause for this issue.

Mike, If you look on the side wall of the freezer there will be a cover that will have the thermistor located under it.

Hello Daniel, the control board does not see the freezer thermistor correctly and as such will not power the compressor. Since you have replaced the freezer temperature thermistor check the wiring connections on the main control board.
