Desperate Des December 22, 2014 for Model Number FGES3065KFA Front left burner, center section only, stopped working. Outer section still operates. Should unit be replaced or is problem in infinity switch. How do I get at the burner unit or if its the switch , how do i get at it ??? thank you
1 Answer Desperate des, This issue will most likely be that the surface element has burnt out. You will want to replace this and to do so you will need to replace the element 318178110. To access the element you will open the oven door and in the upper part of the opening there will be 3 screws that you remove and then you can lift the top to replace. Read More...
Joe K. October 19, 2014 for Model Number FGEF3042KFB Need to replace left front and left rear burner. Need part numbers. How to do it.
1 Answer Joe, the left rear is part number 318178110 and left front is part number 5304533520. Disconnect the power from the unit. Unscrew the screws under the bottom of the front panel of the cooktop. Rise the top to access the elements. Then remove the bracket from the back of the cooktop and lower the element. Now you can access and replace the part. Wire the new one as the old one was wired. Read More...

Aaron July 17, 2013 for Model Number 790.97453804 Hi I have a Kenmore electric range. The right rear burner was not hot when I turn it on. Also just noticed the left front burner was lit up for few seconds and then went off, but the light by the switch was lit the whole time even in off position. Please help. Thank You
1 Answer Hello Aaron. It sounds like the switches for the elements may be bad on the unit. You will need to test the switches and see if they are sending power to the elements. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Ed N July 07, 2013 for Model Number sears double oven electric range 7909805 Left burners front and back don't work. The burner indicator light works when the left rear burner is turned on, but no heat. The burner light indicator light does not come on when the left front burner is turned on, however, it will light at the lowest setting. However, no heat on the left front burner, with switch in any position.
1 Answer Ed, For the left rear burner the issue sounds like it is the element that is faulty and the switch being faulty on the left front. If you access the switches, you can double check the wiring to make sure that there is no damage to the wiring. Read More...
Batmick June 08, 2013 for Model Number FEC36S6EBB This morning the right rear element went dead (confirmed by swapping the switches) so I'll need to replace it. Will I need to remove the entire glass cook top unit to replace the element or is there a way to access from below? Not clear from the diagram.
1 Answer Batmick, To replace one of the top surface elements for this unit, you will need to remove the main top. To do this there will be 2 or 3 screws in the opening of the door at the top to remove. This will release the main top and allow you to lift the top and slide forward. Disconnect the harness and take top off and lay on a soft surface or towels. Remove the old element and install the new element. Read More...

Judy September 23, 2012 for Model Number GLEFZ384GCA I just purchased 2 replacement elements for our range. How do we replace?
1 Answer Hi. It will be easier to remove the door first. Then look under the top under the top Lt and Rt corners. Remove the hidden under the corner screws that mount the top to the cavity. Lift up on the glass top and support the top with the top support rod or a piece of wood. Do not damage the insulation on top of the inner cavity. Mark down the wire connections first so they are replaced efficiently. The bottom of the element has numbers that the element screws are mounted to 2 of them. Use a black marker to mark these screws so you use the same on the new elements. This will insure the centering of the burner when replaced under the glass top. There is a bracket running Lt and rt holding the burners to the bottom of the top itself. Release these bracket mount screws to replace the element itself. Look at the wire connections on the element sensor connections so you hook the wires to the same on the new elements. Thank You. Read More...
Gary April 01, 2012 for Model Number 790.95324303 How do you check a radiant heating element to be sure it is bad before replacing it? On a traditional element you could use an ohm meter.
1 Answer Hello Gary. Most of the time you can remove the element 318178110 from the unit and see if the ribbon is burnt in the element. If the looks good, then you can test it for continuity. It should read closed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
