James, the light under the heat/dry button is going to be a control lock. To disengage the control lock, the heat/dry button would need to be pressed and held for 3 seconds or until the light turns off. This will allow for the user interface to be able to accept input.

Dan, you may want to check to see if the control lock was engaged. To do this, you will want to press the rinse only pad for three seconds while the door is shut, and the lock light should turn off. If it does, then the control lock was engaged. If it does not operate after this step, then you would have a user interface issue [154852501].

I am following up my question from Sunday. How do you check the door switches? We have power to the the control panel when the door is closed. We replaced the switch assembly as you suggested but the problem remains. We disconnected the power supply for 5 minutes; we reconnected the power supply and the Hi Temp and Heat Dry lights blinked; we tried Heat Dry-Normal Wash-Heat Dry-Normal Wash and nothing changed; we pressed Start Cancel and all lights went out; if we press Start Cancel several times the Normal Wash and Washing lights will blink then pressing Start Cancel again causes them to go off. The dishwasher does not start. What is your next suggestion?
