Wt May 20, 2013 for Model Number frs26zgew1 I have a #215846604 defrost timer, 6hr, 21 min., my ice in ice maker is sticking together after defrost cycle. Is there a shorter cycle time timer available or if not what do you think problem could be. Defrost thermostat and heater are working, thanks for your time.
1 Answer WT, It is not uncommon for over a period of time for the ice to clump together. If it is happening every time then it sounds like the timer is sticking in the defrost for too long. There is not a shorter length of time for the timer. Read More...
Pedro July 10, 2011 for Model Number HMG-9020 The ice maker (model#HMG-9020) on my Montgomery Ward refrigerator (Model HMG186247A) was in the process of dumping a tray of ice (upside down position) when it started making a clicking noise and moved no further. The clicking has stopped but the ice maker has not move (still upside down). The ice never dumped from the tray. The bail wire is in the up position (not in the off position). Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Pedro July 05, 2011 for Model Number HMG186247A How do I know if my defrost timer should be hooked up on 6 hour continuous (loose wire attached to terminal #1) or 6 hour cumulative (loose wire attached to terminal #2)? It has a four wire connector. Thanks for the Help!

Pedro July 02, 2011 for Model Number HMG-1862-4 I purchased a new defrost timer and it came with a jumper wire which the original one did not have. My refrigerator has four wires going to the connector. The instructions state for the three wire hook up to connect the jumper between terminals 3 & 4. Is the jumper required for my application? I hooked it up per the instructions and after running for a period of time it blew the circuit breaker?? I removed the jumper, the refrigerator seems to be operating fine, but the defrost timer seems to get to a point and not move any further. Should this timer run continuously, like a clock? Have I damaged the timer? Thanks for your help!!
1 Answer Hello Pedro. Based on the information you provided, the timer does not need the jumper wire. Check and make sure the numbers on the new timer match up with the old timer numbers. If so, you may have damaged the timer 215846604 with the jumper wire. Hope this helps. Read More...
Pedro June 28, 2011 for Model Number HMG186247A I have a Montgomery Ward 18 Frostless, Model HMG186247A which does not come up on any search. It runs continuously and does not cool properly, freezer 32 degrees refrigerator 60 degrees. Trying to locate the defrost timer and have not found it yet (where is it located on the refrigerator?). Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Pedro. Usually the defrost timer is located in three places. Either in the control section, behind the toe panel, or on the back of the unit by the compressor. We can not get the model number to work as well. Look in these locations and see if it is there. Hope this helps. Read More...
