For Ge Bake Element (Part Number: OEM6093273)

Mark for Model Number JDP36-GH3BG

Hi, The new bake element went in perfectly until I tightened (snugged up — I was taught to not over-tighten nuts and screws) the hex-head screws that secure the bake element to the inside back of the oven. When I tightened the hex screws, the front of the bake element (the part of the big bake element that's near to the front of the oven — nearest to the oven door) raised up a bit so that the two metal feet of the bake element, which are, presumably, supposed to rest on the floor of the oven, are about a half an inch (½") above the floor of the oven. I don't want to under-tighten the securing hex screws and I don't want to bend anything (unless I know what I'm doing). I imagine that I could craft metal supporting blocks for the bake element feet. I haven't turned the oven on. I won't turn it on until I'm sure of everything. Do you know if it's okay for the bake element to not be sitting on the oven floor (at least when the oven's cold)? Bye, Mark

Hello Mark, uninstall the element and use a pair of pliers and slightly bent the bake element heater mounting tabs slightly, a little at a time till the heater's feet rest on the oven liner floor.

Hello Mark, These are normally 1/4 inch hex head screws. They will sometimes have a Phillips in the center of the hex. I'm sorry but we cannot pull a photograph of these screws since the model is so old and has apparently dropped from the illustrations. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Hello AnnAnnette, unfortunately there are no parts available listed for your model. If you can remove the bake element you can try taking it to local appliance parts or service company and see if they may be able to find a comparable part.

Hello Chris, you are correct and WB44X5089 is the bake element for your model. By the way, I think your model number actually starts with JDP instead of IDP. Thanks!
