Mark for Model Number JDP36-GH3BG Hi, The new bake element went in perfectly until I tightened (snugged up — I was taught to not over-tighten nuts and screws) the hex-head screws that secure the bake element to the inside back of the oven. When I tightened the hex screws, the front of the bake element (the part of the big bake element that's near to the front of the oven — nearest to the oven door) raised up a bit so that the two metal feet of the bake element, which are, presumably, supposed to rest on the floor of the oven, are about a half an inch (½") above the floor of the oven. I don't want to under-tighten the securing hex screws and I don't want to bend anything (unless I know what I'm doing). I imagine that I could craft metal supporting blocks for the bake element feet. I haven't turned the oven on. I won't turn it on until I'm sure of everything. Do you know if it's okay for the bake element to not be sitting on the oven floor (at least when the oven's cold)? Bye, Mark
Answer Hello Mark, uninstall the element and use a pair of pliers and slightly bent the bake element heater mounting tabs slightly, a little at a time till the heater's feet rest on the oven liner floor. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, March 11, 2020
