Harry July 24, 2013 for Model Number WB07X11040 I looked up this part for my MW and found your site. With it's price of $148, I can't see buying it when a complete new microwave (same model) cost $200. Why does the part cost so much?

Jayz Zee June 01, 2013 for Model Number JVM1740M1SS On my unit not all buttons work. 1-6 express cook, light, fan, reheat, and cook work, most all the rest don't.
1 Answer Jayz zee, The most likely cause for the unit keypads to not work will be the control panel. You will want to check to make sure that the ribbon harness on the control board is connected with a firm connection. Also check to make sure that there is no corrosion on the ribbon harness and if so clean with electronic cleaner. Read More...
John August 11, 2012 for Model Number JVM1740DM1WW My unit runs anytime the door is closed. I checked all three door switches and they check good. Does this mean the control board is bad?

Donna August 07, 2012 for Model Number JVM1740DM1BB There are 2 screws above the vent. If the vent is removed, can the control panel (Ap3993811) be installed fairly easy? Could I get some basic installation instructions on this website, or a video? Thank you for your help.
1 Answer Hello Donna, The two screws are actually on top of the unit close to the front edge. Most installations will allow you to remove the screws without dropping the unit. When the two screws are removed, you will grasp the air grille and shift it towards the left. This unhooks the plastic tabs that hold the bottom of the air grill in place. Once removed, you will be able to see the single Phillips headed screw that holds the control panel in place above the control panel in the center. When it is removed, you can "bump" the control panel up from the bottom and it will slide up and off. Be sure before you begin this whole process, to remove the unit from its power supply as the voltage inside the control panel can seriously hurt or even kill you. Read More...
Jacqui August 02, 2012 for Model Number JVM1740 DM1BB GE Microwave Black Installed part AP3993811 key pad panel. Control instructions seem to be working with one major exception the unit does not heat. What should I try next?
1 Answer Hello Jacqui. Check the magnetron and make sure it reads less than 1 ohm. Also, test the thermal cutoffs and make sure they are closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
1 Answer Hello Nick, Without a model number all I can do is give a general answer. Unplug the microwave first. Most microwaves have a couple of screws along the top that hold the vent grill on. Remove these two screws and remove the vent grill. There will be a screw in the middle above the touch panel behind where the grill was when it was installed. Remove this screw and the panel should slide up and off. Some models are different and have to be dropped to access the screws that need to be removed because some have to have the outside "cabinet" removed from the unit to access the screws that hold the front panel on.
