1 Answer Hi Mark. The tech. sheet does say that either parts can be defective. Technically speaking, change the keypad control first and see if this is all that was effected. It is part # WB07X11040. Then change the smart board afterwards. It is part # WB27X10934. If when you put on a part and it does not repair it , we have an excellent return policy if needed. Mark December 26, 2011 for Model Number JVM1740DM1WW Reading your answers may have just saved me ordering the wrong part. I had the same display Nickos had and Robin on the Chat session told me to order a AP3993872 smart board but from reading your answers I think i need the AP3993811 control panel. Since this unit is installed, can the control panel be installed easily? Does the part come with any install instructions?
1 Answer Hello Mark. The control panel WB07X11040 is not hard to replace. Remove the vent off the top of the unit and open the door and remove the screw securing the control panel to the cabinet. Then lift the control panel off the unit. Once removed, you will remove the wires from the control board and remove the control board from the panel. Nickos D. June 15, 2011 for Model Number jvm1740dmbb Ge spacemaker microwave oven. Keypad flashing keypad shorted service may be needed. Only 2 years old cant find receipt. Do I neeed a new control panel? Do not want to call service man to come out and charge 100 bucks, just to take a srewdriver out and undo a few screws, unplug control panel, pop new one in, and be just shy a buying a new one. Im a union electrician and am familar with electronics.
