Dennis S. May 08, 2011 for Model Number tfx26crdaaa Is there a way to test the defrost timer. I'm thinking that the heater core is on or never came out of defrost leaving heater on and if that was it would disableing heater would be a temperary fix ?
1 Answer Hello Dennis. You will want to manually turn the timer until you hear the first click. You will turn it again and hear another click, then give it a nudge and you will be in defrost mode. To test the defrost mode you will want continuity from connector 2-3. To test the defrost timer motor you can test it anytime from connector 1-3. Hope this helps! Read More...
Clewis March 21, 2011 for Model Number TFX22ZPDAAA My refrigerator compartment was not cool enough, but the freezer works fine. I did some exploring and found the freezer coils all froze up. I looked at the defrost tube and it looks like it's shot. The unit is close to 11 years old. Should I just replace the defrost tube and see if that fixes the problem, or should I replace this part too?
1 Answer Hello Clewis. You can test the heater and see if it is bad. It should read closed for continuity. If it is open, the new heater should fix your problem. Hope this helps. Read More...
1 Answer Hello B. It is located in the control section inside the refrigerator, behind the control cover. Hope this helps. Read More...
