The Electrode Top is an OEM part for GE gas ranges. It is designed to produce the spark necessary to ignite the gas burner, ensuring the burner lights up quickly and efficiently.

You should replace the electrode top if it becomes worn out, damaged, or fails to produce a spark. Common causes of a bad electrode top include buildup of food debris, exposure to moisture, or physical damage to the electrode or its connections.

Symptoms of a bad Electrode Top include:

  • The burner not igniting or taking a long time to ignite
  • A weak or absent spark
  • Clicking sounds without ignition

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Spark Electrode (Part Number: OEM11526870)

Ryan for Model Number CGS980SEM6SS

I have a model GE café cgs980sem6ss and one of the burners intermittently fails to spark. Is it a problem with spark module (part 110) or just electrode (part 450 for all 4 burners?) or is it something else completely. Once turned on, the front right burner starts instantly and stably, but when it cools we get into same cycle again. Gas supply is fine (I can hear and smell it), cleaned all electrodes and burners. What about wires? If it's an issue with spark module, does it come with all wires? Thank you.

1 Answer

Hello Ryan, check the spark electrode that it is clean and not damaged, also the burner base, if still occurs afterward replace the electrode.

Terry, the front right electrode would be part number WB13T10065 for the model provided. To remove it, the burner base would need to be removed so that the retaining clip and spring can be taken off of the electrode. This will allow it to pull free.

Ursula, if the burner head and stovetop are both thoroughly clean, including where they touch each other, the spark module WB13X26360 would be the most likely cause if the flame ignites and there is not a damaged wire.
