Tom March 10, 2011 for Model Number jgp636wev2ww My GE profile gas range is randomly "ticking". When I looked at it closer to find out what was making the ticking sound it was this electrode. It sounded like it was trying light the flame, but the gas was turned off. I've heard that these electrodes go bad, and when they do, they start ticking. Is that true?
1 Answer Hello Tom. It sounds like you either have a bad gas valve switch, or spark module WB13K5078. The switch is what turns on the spark, and the module is the unit that causes it to spark. More likely to be the spark module. Hope this helps. Read More...
