The Range Surface Burner Control Switch is an OEM part for GE ranges. This switch manages the temperature of the surface burners on your range, providing the ability to adjust the heat level. Whether you're simmering sauces or boiling water, the control switch ensures precise temperature management, enhancing your cooking experience.

The causes of a faulty burner control switch often include prolonged use leading to wear on the electrical contacts, exposure to moisture causing short circuits, or physical damage from impact or excessive force when turning the knob.

Symptoms of a bad surface burner control switch:

  • The burner not turning on or off
  • Inability to adjust the heat level, with the burner staying at one temperature regardless of the knob setting.
  • Intermittent burner function

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Wondering if you can help me with this problem. The up & down button on control pad became very, very hard to use for about the past 4-5 months. Finally it quit working all together and gave us a code of F7 12 on the read out.The Burners still work fine. I am wondering if I could just replace the "up & down" switch or if I need a whole new Replacement Panel or ERC? I am trying to handle it without getting to in depth. If so , I can get a GE Repairman out to fix it. Thanks in advance...4/30/2013 @ 3:45 pm

Hi The oven element and the broiler element will not get hot. Within a few miunutes of attempting to heat the oven or use the broiler, the display flashes F3. None of the elements gets hot. I removed the rear panel and disconnected the connector to the sensor to test it with a digital ohm meter with it still bolted to the oven (sensor bolts were very rusty). It measured 59.kiloohms. I assume that the sensor is bad. Willa bad oven sensor prevent the controller from turn on the oven and broiler element? The top elements work fine.

Hi David, the switches are different depending on if they are for the large element or the small element. The switch for the 8" element is WB24T10025. The 6" element switch is WB24T10029. Thanks!
