Bob September 23, 2011 for Model Number PSS26SGPA SS I would like to change this out also, but there seems to be black trim around the dispenser area, and it looks to be two sided tape sealed to the face of the refrigerator. Does this need to come off in order to access the dispenser interface face and mother board?
1 Answer Hello Bob. No, you do not need to remove the trim around the dispenser. The interface display WR55X10298 will unsnap out of the dispenser. It is held in with clips. The mother board WR55X10942C is located on the back of the refrigerator behind a metal cover. Hope this helps. Read More...
Pete February 28, 2011 How difficult is it to switch this part out? From use, the touch screen is cracking at a couple of the buttons. Do you furnish instructions with the part and can it be done by a reasonable novice?
1 Answer Hello Pete. The dispenser interface unsnaps out of the dispenser to replace it. You will need to disconnect the power to the unit before doing the repair. Then start at the bottom corner and unsnap the interface from the dispenser. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...
