Corey B March 07, 2016 for Model Number GE PSI23SGNA Water dispenser would not stop on a couple of occasions this week. I know the problem could be something stuck in water valve, or the circuit that provides power to water valve solenoid. Not sure if that would be more likely the main control board or the board on the door? Suggestions? I did find at times there was 120v present at the solenoid valve when the dispenser switch was NOT pressed. Ice maker, solenoid and dispenser works fine.
1 Answer Hello Corey. You will need to check the micro-switch in the dispenser and see if it is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

John C May 28, 2014 for Model Number PSC23NGMA BB The water/ice dispenser has no lights lit on it and does not dispense. How can you determine if it is the dispenser control board or the main control board that is the problem?
1 Answer John, To determine whether the issue is the main control board or the dispenser control board that is causing the issue you would want to check for voltage at the main board. You would want to check on the J4 connector. Check DC voltage from black to red. This is your voltage out to the control board. If there is no voltage then the main board is bad. If there is voltage then you will want to check at the freezer door hinge for loose or broken harness connections and if ok then the issue would be the dispenser board. Read More...

Brian April 06, 2014 for Model Number psc23sgpass I'm looking to replace the interface display assembly for my GE refrigerator (WR55X10298). Does it come out of the freezer door easily. Is it possible to get step-by-step directions? Thanks
1 Answer Brian, It's not difficult at all, just be careful . The dispenser assembly consists of the interface, display board, dispenser shield, and duct door functioning parts. The dispenser interface can be removed to access the display board and the dispenser shield mounting screws. The interface is held in place by 4 tabs that hold it to the dispenser recess. To remove the interface, it is necessary to grasp the bottom lip of the interface on either side and gently pull it towards you. There are 3 wire harnesses connected to the display board. Note: The interface and display board are replaced as a complete assembly. When assembling, insert top tabs into the top of dispenser recess first, then snap the bottom into place. Read More...
1 Answer Mark, To remove the control panel on the dispenser assembly you would just grasp the lower part of the control with your fingertips and lift and pull and it will pop off. Read More...
Scott July 13, 2013 for Model Number pss26mg The plastic over the Water, Crushed Ice, and Ice buttons have broken from repeated use. They continued to work fine until recently. The Water button remains lit up and active. Occasionally the Ice button will light up and work properly if you continue to hold it. Other wise it goes back to water. Will the interface assembly part fix the problem if it is localized in the buttons only?
1 Answer Hello Scott. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the interface WR55X10298 will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
Randy April 14, 2013 for Model Number PSS26GRESS I've had problems with the water/ice dispenser. For awhile the ice maker worked, but then started to fail, with display buttons blinking and locking up the panel. After a few hours the panel would function again, but now only for water. Eventually that functionality stop all together, so I purchased and install a new display board. The IDA will not light up as if there is no power going to it. I checked MCB to see if anything was blacken/burned. None looks new. I had this replace once before. Since the MCB was replaced I found one of the wires in the wiring harness at the bottom of the freezer door croaded through and wet. So I spliced it back together and IDA worked for a while then it stop. When the repair tech replace the MCB he the press a series of buttons on the IDA to reset it. Can not find the part # for wiring harness. Any ideas??
1 Answer Randy, The wiring harness that is located at the bottom of the door is part of the door and if on the cabinet side is part of the cabinet. If the wiring harness is on the freezer door side then the freezer door would have to be replaced. If the wire harness needed is on the cabinet side of unit then it cannot be gotten as it is foamed into the cabinet of the unit. Read More...
Susan January 13, 2012 I've had problems with the water/ice dispenser since the light bulb that illuminates the dispenser burnt out. For awhile the ice maker worked, but then started to fail, with display buttons blinking and locking up the panel. After a few hours the panel would function again, but now only for water. Eventually that functionality was unreliable, so I purchased and install a new display board. The board will only function, if the light bulb is removed. Insert a bulb and the display locks up. Also, the panel activates water and ice, but the flap holding back ice refuses to open. So my residual problem...how to restore the light and proper opening of the ice flap door. Any ideas??
