Bob Miller June 24, 2016 for Model Number ESH25XGPCWW The water dispenser on the door does not work. I replaced the water supply valve in the back of the refrigerator. The water dispenser still does not work. I am wondering about the actual dispenser panel in the door being at fault? If it has failed, how hard is it to replace? Is there a video on how to do this?
1 Answer Bob, The dispenser control will most likely not be the issue with the unit. The most likely cause will be that the fill tube in the door is frozen. Take the kick plate off and disconnect the tubing at the bottom of the door. Push the dispenser lever and if water comes out of the tubing that is coming from under the refrigerator then the issue will be the fill tube is frozen. If it is frozen then you could install a dispenser heater kit WR49X10173 to correct the issue. Read More...
Mike March 20, 2013 for Model Number gsh22kgrecc My ice maker works fine, but my water dispenser will work for a few days and then not for weeks, and button for water lights up. I am thinking it's a touch pad. Thank you
1 Answer Mike, When the dispenser stops working, take the kickplate off and disconnect the water line at the bottom of the door. Push in on the dispenser lever with it set to water and if water comes out then this means that the dispenser is frozen and you will need part number WR49X10173 dispenser tube heater kit. Robert September 15, 2011 for Model Number GSH22KGPACC Please refer to question and answer 1. Thanks for your answer, but all other parts of the refrigerator are working and it's only this panel that's not functioning. Wouldn't some other part of the refrigerator not be working as well, if it's the mother board. I have order another Interface board to see if the sent one was defective. I've also checked for loose wires as well and there are none. Does the 6 pong plug that goes into the board and then goes into the freezer door, able to come out? It seems like it is permanently there and guess that goes to the mother board. Is that correct? When installing the board is it necessary to shut off the power? If this doesn't work I guess I will have to order the mother board. I did take off the back and look at the mother board and saw no loose wires and assume the wiring from the 6 pong goes directly to the mother board.
1 Answer Hello Robert. No, the dispenser can quit and it be a bad mother board and everything else working. Test and see if there is power coming to the dispenser board. If not, it is a bad mother board and it will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Robert September 15, 2011 for Model Number GSH22KGPACC I just replace the Interface board because the old one wasn't working (no light, water, ice etc.) I installed the new one you sent me and it still doesn't work. Could it be the solenoid that is causing the system to not work? help!
1 Answer Hello Robert. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the main control board WR55X10942C is bad , and not the dispenser board. Hope this helps. Read More...
