John February 17, 2022 for Model Number SH208W0WW I have the knob timer assembly part # WH01X10064, to replace and I want clarification on installing it. The old one broke off and is still in there. It does not easily unscrew when I use pliers and try to unscrew turning counter clockwise. Any additional tips? Am thinking I could spray the end of screw with WD 40 and then try it. Thanks, John
1 Answer John, unfortunately, there is not a different approach to this. It is possible that a threadlock has been used on the threads which would require more torque to unscrew the knob. Read More...
Phil J March 15, 2015 for Model Number WSXH208V1WW The inner control knob broke off from the control panel. Actually, just the outer half of the inner control knob, if that makes sense. The outer control knob is still attached. How do I install a new knob? I am trying to determine how complex, to determine if I can DIY.
S. Brooks July 27, 2014 for Model Number WSXH208V1WW Trying to understand how to remove the knob timer assembly. The outer core of the control knob assembly broke and the second part of the assembly is still attached to the washer. Could you explain how to remove it?? I didn't want to mess up the main assembly. I wasn't sure if just by rotating the inner piece counter clockwise if it would unscrew off or if I would simply need to pull it off?? Thx for your help!!
David P. May 16, 2011 for Model Number WSXH208V1WW The part Part Number GE AP204450 broke on my washer. I have been able to replace parts as needed, but not sure by looking at this part how is will be installed, ie not sure what tools are needed and how to get the one that is broken off the machine. Prefer not to pay $$$$ for something I can do easily with the correct tool, but I can't see how the part comes off or goes back on. Help would be great so I know I can order it and install it myself. Thanks
1 Answer Hello David. The old knob unscrews off the timer shaft, and the new one screws onto the timer shaft. Hope this helps. Read More...
