The Turntable Coupler is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It connects the microwave's turntable motor to the glass tray, enabling the tray to rotate during cooking. This rotation ensures even heating and cooking of food items placed on the tray.

Causes of a bad turntable coupler can include regular wear and tear, physical damage from heavy or improperly placed items, or overheating due to prolonged use.

Symptoms of a bad turntable coupler include:

  • Turntable not rotating
  • Uneven heating or cooking of food
  • Grinding or clicking noises during operation
  • The coupler being visibly damaged or worn

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

GJ, you would need to clean the area that is rusted, sand it, and re-paint that area with appliance paint. The interior is a non-replaceable item. Possibly, over time, the coupler has rubbed away the paint and allowed to rust.

John, The turn table coupler for the model number you supplied is WB06X10138 / WB06X10138 . The part is in stock and available at this time. As for "arcing" in the microwave, there is no metal of any sort involved in the coupler, if there was a "carbon" deposit, it wouldn't arc anyway. the carbon fiber would absorb the microwaves, not reject them. You'll need to look for bare metal, scrapes and gauges in the painted surface of the cavity, and or metal shavings etc. on the bottom of the microwave and under the turn table.
