1 Answer GJ, you would need to clean the area that is rusted, sand it, and re-paint that area with appliance paint. The interior is a non-replaceable item. Possibly, over time, the coupler has rubbed away the paint and allowed to rust. Read More...

As for "arcing" in the microwave, there is no metal of any sort involved in the coupler, if there was a "carbon" deposit, it wouldn't arc anyway. the carbon fiber would absorb the microwaves, not reject them. You'll need to look for bare metal, scrapes and gauges in the painted surface of the cavity, and or metal shavings etc. on the bottom of the microwave and under the turn table. Read More...
