Donna April 28, 2018 for Model Number GE ZE 2160 SF took out all screws on bottom to replace turntable motor - we think we took out screws we should not have - and now are hearing something moving around - "capacitor"??? - how do we take off bottom cover completely to reconnect that - tried to - but bottom plate didn't budge at all. Any assistance would help
2 Answers Donna, Under the circumstances, you'll most likely need to remove power to the microwave, then remove it from the cabinet. Then " REPLACEMENT OF TURN TABLE MOTOR 1. Disconnect power and remove glass tray from cavity. 2. Turn oven upside down and cut the motor cover tabs. CAUTION: Remove sharp edges after removing the motor cover. 3. Disconnect wires from motor and remove 1 screw securing motor to oven cavity. 4. Mount motor in reverse order. 5. Mount motor cover with screw supplied." In order to access the internal controls and components to find the dismounted component you may have to remove the outer cabinet " 1. Disconnect power, remove outer case and discharge capacitor. 2. Don April 21, 2013 for Model Number JE2160SF01 How difficult is it to replace the turntable motor on a GE Profile Microwave? I have the unit out of builti in cabinet. I believe the part number is AP2024917 I cannot find my appliance model number on your website that cooresponds to part number above. The closest model number is JE2160SF001
1 Answer Don, To replace the turntable motor you will take the screws out of the bottom of the unit and drop the bottom. Once down disconnect the motor and take the screws out holding it in place. Once out install new and reinstall wires and base. Read More...
