Dale, if the motor inverter LED flashes one second on and one second off even when the washer is agitating or spinning, the failure would be in the motor assembly WH20X10066.

My washer Fills, drains, but won't spin nor agitate. When I check the light on the motor, it flashes 6 times, but I can manually rotate the belt without difficulty. I did see some belt particles below it, but the belt still turns everything fine when I do it manually. When I put the washer in spin cycle mode, you hear the draining, and a whine of the motor, but it won't spin the tub. I don't want to buy a new motor just to find out that the problem is caused by something else.

Jason, The 6 flashes will indicate a locked rotor. Make sure that the drum is able to turn freely and if it is then this will likely be an issue with the motor itself.

I got a washer where the agitator is moving too slow or not hard enough. I can almost stop it with my hands I checked the agitator dogs and the agitator coupling pulsator and they’re both fine. When it’s time to drain the water out, it drains good and when it spins it spins real good. The only problem is that it don’t agitate hard enough.I checked the motor for codes and it is fine it’s flashing once every other second. What could it be? I need some help. Thanks in advance.

1 Answer

Jose, If it spins fine then the motor wouldn.t be the issue and you say that it does agitate so the mode shifter and shaft are not an issue. The only other possibilities are the settings are set to gentle wash or the coupling for the pulsator has stripped teeth or the pulsator itself has stripped.

Jay, You will want to check that the pressure switch is resetting to empty. If the pressure switch is not resetting then the unit will not go into a spin and will continue to try to drain the unit.

Glen for Model Number GTWN4250M1WS

My washer beeps as though the lid is open and the auto load sensing option will not fill the washer. If I put it on the manual option (small, med, lg, etc) then the washer will fill but continues to beep as if the lid is open. After filling it stops. If I turn the switch to drain/spin then the washer will drain and make the sound as though it is spinning but isn't. All of this with the lid open. I checked the flashing light on the motor and it flashes 10 times. I have replaced the lid switch and the control panel. According to info it says to replace motor if none of the above works. Any ideas on what else it might be? Thanks!

1 Answer

Glen, The 10 flashes on the inverter board is a communication error. You will want to open the control and check all the wiring between the control board in the panel and the inverter board on the motor. If the wiring checks ok then it could be a faulty main control board but if that does not work then the motor would need to be replaced.

J. Coakley, If the Led will not come on the display when you push the start button then the issue will be with the control board part number WH12X10475.
