Dale July 12, 2021 for Model Number GTWN4250M1WS The red led on top of the motor flashes slowly all the time. Unit starts, washes, agitates, but stops in final rinse after draining tube. Does not spin clothes dry. Shuts off. If I select Drain & Spin and hit start at this point, the unit will drain and spin clothes dry. I have replaced the control board assy. WH12X10524 (AP5332607) What do you suggest I try next? Thanks, Dale
1 Answer Dale, if the motor inverter LED flashes one second on and one second off even when the washer is agitating or spinning, the failure would be in the motor assembly WH20X10066. Read More...
Jason-Garth Hue November 27, 2020 for Model Number gtwn4250m My washer Fills, drains, but won't spin nor agitate. When I check the light on the motor, it flashes 6 times, but I can manually rotate the belt without difficulty. I did see some belt particles below it, but the belt still turns everything fine when I do it manually. When I put the washer in spin cycle mode, you hear the draining, and a whine of the motor, but it won't spin the tub. I don't want to buy a new motor just to find out that the problem is caused by something else.
1 Answer Jason, The 6 flashes will indicate a locked rotor. Make sure that the drum is able to turn freely and if it is then this will likely be an issue with the motor itself. Read More...
Jose October 02, 2019 for Model Number GTWN4950L0WS I got a washer where the agitator is moving too slow or not hard enough. I can almost stop it with my hands I checked the agitator dogs and the agitator coupling pulsator and they’re both fine. When it’s time to drain the water out, it drains good and when it spins it spins real good. The only problem is that it don’t agitate hard enough.I checked the motor for codes and it is fine it’s flashing once every other second. What could it be? I need some help. Thanks in advance.
1 Answer Jose, If it spins fine then the motor wouldn.t be the issue and you say that it does agitate so the mode shifter and shaft are not an issue. The only other possibilities are the settings are set to gentle wash or the coupling for the pulsator has stripped teeth or the pulsator itself has stripped. Read More...
Jay July 19, 2019 for Model Number PTWN6250M0WT My washer will not go into spin cycle during a normal wash cycle. The drain pump will run and continue to do so unless I stop it. It agitates as normal during the cycle but when it comes to the spin portion nothing. I replaced the logic board but am stuck on what to do next. HELP!!!
1 Answer Jay, You will want to check that the pressure switch is resetting to empty. If the pressure switch is not resetting then the unit will not go into a spin and will continue to try to drain the unit. Read More...
Kraig April 26, 2019 for Model Number GTWN4950L0WS Everything works great -- except spin cycle seems like it is spinning twice as fast as it should. Spin cycle sounds like jet engine taking off!
1 Answer Kraig, you may want to inspect the shaft assembly WH38X10017 and bearing WH2X1198 as either of these can cause this sound. Read More...
Glen April 08, 2015 for Model Number GTWN4250M1WS My washer beeps as though the lid is open and the auto load sensing option will not fill the washer. If I put it on the manual option (small, med, lg, etc) then the washer will fill but continues to beep as if the lid is open. After filling it stops. If I turn the switch to drain/spin then the washer will drain and make the sound as though it is spinning but isn't. All of this with the lid open. I checked the flashing light on the motor and it flashes 10 times. I have replaced the lid switch and the control panel. According to info it says to replace motor if none of the above works. Any ideas on what else it might be? Thanks!
1 Answer Glen, The 10 flashes on the inverter board is a communication error. You will want to open the control and check all the wiring between the control board in the panel and the inverter board on the motor. If the wiring checks ok then it could be a faulty main control board but if that does not work then the motor would need to be replaced. Read More...
Anthony March 16, 2015 for Model Number GTWN4950L0WS Hello My GE Low water washer fills but will not Agitate or Spin the red light on the motor is flashing 3 times. Whould this be the motor or the mode shifter? Thanks for your help.
Frank February 26, 2015 for Model Number PTWN6250M0WT The display on the washer says LID when I press the start button. I checked the lid switch (magnetic type) with ohm meter and it is operating properly the light on the motor control board has a ten count code, replaced the control board pn WH12X10481. I get the same result with the new board, what other diagnostic steps can I do?
1 Answer Hello Frank, If replacing the lid switch WH12X10334 doesn't correct the issue, you will need to replace the motor/inverter assembly WH20X10066. Read More...
