The Bake Element is an OEM part for GE ovens, designed to provide the heat necessary for baking. This element is located at the bottom of the oven cavity and heats up when electricity is applied, converting electrical energy into heat to cook food evenly.

Over time, however, the bake element can wear out or become damaged.

Symptoms of a bad Bake Element include:

  • Visible signs of wear or damage, such as blistering, cracks, or breaks in the element.
  • A burnt out element that no longer glows red or heats up.
  • Food not baking evenly or thoroughly.

This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Sean, the bake element WB44T10011 would be used with your model. When looking up parts or compatibility checking, the model would be read as JBP78DD2BB by the manufacturer's diagrams.

Lydia for Model Number 91147089100

The element in the bottom of our oven (Kenmore Model # 91147089100) went out. I think it was part WB44T10025. I can no longer find this part because it was replaced by WB44T10018. This part ending in 18 has different connections. The --18 part is the same width all the way down. The (older) part --25 has ends that are thinner, then almost a little ledge on either side. (If you hold it with the attachment part pointed to the ceiling, the connection point looks like a little top hat.) How do I connect the new part to my oven without the ledge on the old part. It seems like it will just flop around in the oven without having any way to lock in. What am I missing?

Lydia, This will be the correct replacement part for the unit and sounds like you just need to replace the connectors with a high temp 1/4" female spade connector TJMA02875-1.

Sherri, Thanks for the question!!! You found the correct bake element. Not sure why but GE removes that 0 from their model numbers when searching for information.
