This genuine replacement part is a radiant element for electric stoves. The radiant element is the component of the stove that heats up to allow the stove to perform its essential function of cooking. If the stove is no longer heating properly or not at all, it could mean that the radiant element needs to be replaced. Luckily this is a relatively simple process. To replace the radiant element, make sure to turn the power supply off to the stove by either unplugging it or shutting off the circuit breaker. Once powered off, proceed to locate the screws that attach the radiant element to the stove. Once identified, remove them using a screwdriver and pull up on the radiant element to release it from the stove. Once released, remove the wire harness that is connected to the radiant element and place it into the new part. Place the new radiant element on top of the stove and secure the screws that hold it in place. This OEM replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with General Electric, Hotpoint, and RCA brand electric stoves.

Tom, To replace the element you will need to pull the unit out from installation and remove the screws that are around the perimeter that hold the main top in place. Once removed you will lift the cooktop off of the burner box and this will give you access to the burners.

Hi Joe. Yes the element will cause the burner from not heating. Which element is in question? Unplug the unit. Check all heater, sensor, and wire harness connectors for damage or being loose. Remove sensor connector from the board and measure the RTD sensor. At room temperatures it should read 1030-1150ohms. If it does not then replace the heater and recalibrate inductive sensers. If it does then replace the main board and recalibrate sensors. The board # is WB27X33352 Thank you.

Hello Scott. This can be a pretty big job if you have never replaced one before. The top will have to come completely apart for the replacement of the element. It can be done just take your time and be careful. The top and elements are fragile. Hope this helps.
