Repaso August 06, 2021 for Model Number NWSR483eb3ww The starter switch part you recommend for this dryer WE4M519 has 3 terminals. The original starter switch has 4 terminals. two separate red wires connect to terminal #2 on the switch which has two separate terminals available for the two red wires. Both terminals connect and go into the #2 body of the switch. How can I connect the two red wires to only 1 terminal that is available with the recommended replacement part?
1 Answer Hello Repaso, the manufacturer has altered the switch design, the 2 red wires need to be joined, either cut and splice one to the other or use a 2-1 piggyback terminal connector available at the electrical aisle of hardware or home improvement store. Read More...
Anthony July 30, 2021 for Model Number DHDSR466GG7WW Hi, The rotary switch fell through the plastic clips were broken, when it fell through one of the leads came in contact with metal and shorted out the switch. I replaced the switch, however there is no power going to it. My question is: is there a terminal fuse that needs to be replaced and if so where is it located. Thank you very much-needed advice. Anthony
1 Answer Hello Anthony, the start switch is powered through the timer contacts, the timer needs to be replaced at this point, timer part is WE04X20415. Read More...
Stephen July 22, 2021 for Model Number DBXR463GB0WW Hi. My current GE dryer rotary start switch needs to be replaced. My model is DBXR463GB0WW and the replacement part appears to be WE4X881. The current switch (markings 175D2315P009. ASR2373-103T) has 3 "prongs" with 3 separate wires attached. Everything I can find indicates that WE4X881 is the correct replacement, but it only has 2 prongs. Installation videos show either replacing a 2 prong with a 2 prong or replacing a 3 prong with the 3 prong WE4M519, however various sites indicate WE4M519 is not compatible with my model. So I can get a 2 prong, but then I have 1 extra wire or get a 3 prong that is shaped a little different and may not fit/work on my model. Can you please help? This is driving me nuts. Thanks.
1 Answer Stephen, the wiring for this model shows that there should be two brown wires that would go onto terminal 1 and the red wires onto terminal 2. It is likely that one of the wires pulled free from the piggyback terminal of the similar colored wire and would need to be put back onto it. Read More...
Domkris January 27, 2021 for Model Number DBSR453EB3WW Hi, the drum will not turn. Before it completely stopped, I would turn the start switch, the heater would turn on but I had to manually turn the drum and close the door and I would get it running, I'm no longer able to do it. I disassembled the dryer, removed the drum and I'm able to get the motor running briefly with help of the belt but it will stop, could this be a motor problem or start switch, appreciate your advice to place an order for the required part. Regards,
1 Answer DomKris, Based on your description and information, the issue is in the motor windings, you will need the WE17X10010/WE17X10010 Dryer Motor Kit. The part is in stock and available at this time. Thanks, Read More...

Tim October 21, 2020 for Model Number DWSR483EG8WW One of the plastic brackets that hold the start switch in place broke. Is there any way to hold this in place like with electrical tape or something, instead of replacing the entire control panel? Optionally the wrinkle care bracket looks similar, would that be a viable work around?

Ron August 03, 2020 for Model Number Switch WE4M519 I have a GE dryer in a rental property that uses a rotary WE4M519 start switch. Tenants have broken it multiple times. Is there a more durable push button switch I can substitute with the same lead/wire configuration?
Pat G. July 20, 2020 for Model Number DRSR483ED1WW The touchpad and the switch on my dryer don't work anymore. The touchpad is completely unresponsive to touch. Can this item help?
1 Answer Pat, This unit does not have a touchpad but has rotary switches. If the dryer is not starting then you will want to test the door switch for continuity and you can test the start switch as well for continuity. If there is no continuity the replace the broken part. Read More...
