James March 07, 2020 will the dyer run if I touch wires together from control switch or do I have other problems like a relay
1 Answer James, jumping wires can cause the unit to operate, however, this is not a recommended thing to do as it can create risks. If the model number of your appliance could be provided in a new inquiry, including the symptoms of the unit, this will allow for the most accurate information to be presented. Read More...
Katie January 24, 2020 for Model Number DJXR433EC2WW The dryer switch works BUT you have to hold to the on position a couple of times until it actually starts. Once it starts you can hear the motor sort of down shift (for lack of a better word). The dryer will run but it takes a long time. I am thinking I need a new starter switch. FYI - the drum moves fine, the hose has been cleaned.
1 Answer Katie, based on the information provided, there would be a motor WE17X10010 issue. The rotary start switch is a temporary switch that just sends 120VAC to the motor to allow the start windings to spin the motor quickly to allow the centrifugal switch to close. Read More...

P.J. W. September 15, 2018 for Model Number DHDSR46EE1WW Bought piggy back connector so start switch could be replaced. male ends of double red wires are smaller than piggy backs. Bought similar size female ends to replace ones on dryer so as to complete process. Was wondering difference btw 22/18 or 16/14 and which would be better to use on this nightmare. many thanks
1 Answer P.J.W, You would want to use a 16/14 wire connector for this dryer as this is what most of the wiring is in the unit. Read More...

Trapper July 21, 2018 for Model Number DBXR463ED1WW The start knob won't stay in position. When you start the dryer and let go of the knob it turns back off and the dryer stops. Model DBXR463ED1WW. Thanks.
1 Answer Trapper, With the unit shutting off as soon as the start switch is released then this would most likely be caused by a faulty centrifugal switch on the motor which would require the motor to be replaced. The start switch does not stay in the position of start as it is just a momentary switch to get it started. Read More...

Diane W. June 04, 2018 for Model Number gtdx180ed2ww The knob on the timer of the GE dryer broke as well as the stem of the timer. The dryer works but I need just the knob and the stem that goes on the timer. What are those parts called and is there a video showing how to put it on? The video I saw was for the type of heat you want.
1 Answer Hello Diane, The timer knob is WE01X20374. You will have to replace the timer WE4M533 to get the timer shaft. The new knob will simply slide onto the timer shaft to install. Read More...
