Malinda M October 28, 2014 for Model Number HTDP120GDOWW My rotary start switch came loose from the back of the cabinet and wouldn't stay back on it. So we temporary fixed it so we can used the dryer until we could figure out why it wasn't staying in place. So now it don't want to turn on at all. I've checked the fuses and I've checked the wires. Can you please help me? I'm a grandmother of 5 grandkids living with me got to have a dryer!
1 Answer Malinda, Most likely the switch either came loose from the bracket or the switch is faulty. The switch part number is WE4M519. You will also want to check the door switch to make sure that it has continuity when the door is closed and check the thermal fuse to make sure that it is good for continuity. These would be the most likely causes other than the switch for it not turning on. Read More...
Len September 10, 2014 for Model Number DWXR483GGWW I have replaced the rotary start switch WE4M519 but dryer still will not start. Is there something else that need to be replaced?
1 Answer Len, With the dryer not starting you will want to test the door switch and the thermal fuse to make sure that they have continuity. If both these test ok then test for power at the motor and if there is power then the motor is faulty. Read More...
