Kazman May 15, 2013 for Model Number jcp68*W*WH I recently replaced my 4-6-8 heating element(WB30X357) but not the sensi temp. Well it still would not turn on. After I removed the sensi temp altogether and closed the loop, the element comes on "HI" even on low setting(glowing red). Seeing that sensi temp is no longer available, is there a way I can bypass this and have a normal operating element?
Craig W December 27, 2012 for Model Number J P86Y1 GE Cooktop I am having trouble with the three element burner on this cooktop. I have checked the elements for continuity and all three appear to be functional. All 3 diameters of the element 4", 6" and 8" stopped working at once. I suspect the sensor is the culprit. Since replacement parts are hard to come by and very expensive I would like to determine if the sensor is functional before ordering a replacement. Is there a way to check it? I checked continuity and it reads open circuit whether the trim piece is depressed or not. Is it simply a switch or is there some other way to check it?
1 Answer Hello Craig, If the sensor/limiter is showing open then the limiter is bad. The limiter is not part that is separate and the element would have to be replaced. Read More...
Todd H. September 23, 2011 for Model Number JHP67G0H2AD Is this sensor truly needed? Our sensor wiring is gone, but the burner heats only minimally. Checked terminals and all read at least 120 volts. Can you assist, please?
1 Answer Hello Todd. Yes, you will need the sensor WB21X5207 hooked up for the element WB30X357 to work properly. Once it is hooked up correctly, if the element does not work, you will need to test the element for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
