The Temperature Sensor is an OEM part for GE ovens. This sensor plays a role in monitoring and regulating the oven's internal temperature during cooking. It ensures that the oven heats to the set temperature and maintains it consistently throughout the cooking process, resulting in evenly cooked meals.

Symptoms of a bad Temperature Sensor include:

  • Oven overheating or not heating to the set temperature.
  • Inconsistent cooking results or undercooked food.
  •  Frequent error messages from the oven related to temperature issues.
  • The oven cycling on and off too frequently.

Causes of a bad temperature sensor can include prolonged exposure to high temperatures which might degrade its responsiveness, electrical issues such as short circuits, or physical damage that affects its ability to measure temperature accurately.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Ge Temperature Sensor (Part Number: OEM11377782)

Brian Boyd for Model Number CGS980SEM1SS

My GE Range Cafe oven shuts completely down while preheating and baking/roasting. The control panel loses all functionality - only the time display shows; no response from the touch buttons. The only way to recover is to pull the oven out and pull the power plug from the wall outlet, wait a few seconds and plug it back in (or switch off at mains fuse box then restart). This regularly happens more than once during using the oven, especially at temperatures above 350F. Please advise. Thank you.
