The Temperature Sensor is an OEM part for GE ovens. It plays a role in monitoring and regulating the oven's internal temperature, ensuring accurate heating and cooking performance. This sensor works by detecting the temperature inside the oven cavity and communicating with the main control board to maintain the set temperature throughout the cooking process.
Causes of a bad Temperature Sensor can include exposure to extreme temperatures leading to sensor failure, wear and tear over time, or damage from oven cleaning agents or spills that may affect its functionality.
Symptoms of a bad Temperature Sensor include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
In the middle of Christmas baking, I noticed that it was taking a really long time to bake bread. Since I had already done 5 batches and the timing was always the same, I knew when I had to add 20 min, something was wrong. My oven thermometer (I bought at target) no longer worked so it was hard to tell the exact temperature. First, I went and bought a new thermometer to see the actual temp, then I set the oven to 350 degrees and checked to see what the thermometer was showing. It was almost 50... Read more
The Oven Sensor Assembly is an OEM part for GE ovens. This part monitors the oven's internal temperature, ensuring it matches the set temperature on the oven's controls. By accurately measuring the heat inside the oven, the sensor assembly communicates with the oven's control system to adjust the temperature accordingly.
Over time, the oven sensor can become faulty due to wear or damage, leading to inaccurate temperature readings. This can manifest as unevenly cooked food, longer cooking times, or an oven that fails to reach the desired temperature setting.
Symptoms of a bad Oven Sensor Assembly include:
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
Spoke to a parts pro and told them of the problem. there were 2 possibilieies from the explanation of what the parts do. onw could have been the Range oven igniter. that wasn't it beaacause the over was lighting fine. by process of illimination it was the Oven Sensor Assembly. Read more
The Temperature Sensor is an OEM part for GE ovens and ranges, accurately measures and controls the temperature within the oven cavity. This part ensures your oven heats to the desired temperature and maintains it throughout the cooking process, providing consistent and reliable cooking results.

The Temperature Sensor is an OEM part for GE ovens. This sensor plays a role in monitoring and regulating the oven's internal temperature during cooking. It ensures that the oven heats to the set temperature and maintains it consistently throughout the cooking process, resulting in evenly cooked meals.
Causes of a bad temperature sensor can include prolonged exposure to high temperatures which might degrade its responsiveness, electrical issues such as short circuits, or physical damage that affects its ability to measure temperature accurately.
The actual replacement part number for my oven was WB21X5301, which costs $84.26, but this part actually fits perfectly (same hole sizes and position, same probe length, same resistance), and is less than 1/4 the price. Just removed the old probed and installed the new one. Read more
The Oven Sensor Kit is an OEM replacement part for GE ranges. It contains critical sensors that monitor the oven's temperature, functions, and safety features during the cooking process. An accurate and fully functioning sensor kit is essential for reliable oven performance.
Causes of a bad oven sensor kit can include failures in individual sensors due to prolonged use and heat exposure over time. Electrical issues affecting communication between sensors and the control board may also require sensor replacement.
Symptoms of a bad oven sensor kit include:
I was able to find the model number on the lower right hand side of the range/oven, a GE True Temp. I Googled it to find parts, and thought I had found the correct sensor, but was very pleased that the ApplianceParts sire suggested I check compatability again before the order. I would have ordered the wrong sensor kit other wise. I DID get the correct one order. It arrived on time. The tricky part was get the old sensor out without having to pull the oven/range combo out form the wall over... Read more
The Probe Thermistor is an OEM replacement part for GE wall ovens and ranges. Located inside the oven cavity, this temperature-sensitive probe precisely monitors interior heat to safeguard against overcooking. Causes of a faulty thermistor involve exposure to excessive cooking temperatures, moisture infiltration from spills or steam, or basic failure due to old age. Symptoms of an inadequate probe thermistor include:
This OEM GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
