Hello J.D., As with any appliance repair, it begins with the discontinuation of power to the unit to prevent personal injury. Next, remove the screws from the top of the control panel to access the timer. Pull the knob straight off and on the inside of the panel you will either find one screw holding the timer in the plastic retainers or, on some models, there is a plastic clip that has to be held down to allow the rotation of the old timer from under the plastic retaining tabs. Once the old timer is free and still attached to the wires, use a set of needle nosed pliers to pull the first wire off and locate the correct terminal on the new timer to attach it to. Do this one by one until all of the wires are on the new timer. Reinstall the timer into the retainers and if there was a screw, reinstall it. Push the knob back on and re-establish the power connection. Now it's all over but the test run.

Diane, the manufacturer does not seem to offer a model DYDSR46EG6WW. I have however, located model DHDSR46EG6WW (H instead of a Y). The timer is part number WE4M533. Thanks!
