John January 18, 2022 for Model Number cscp5ugxcfss I replaced this drip pan about 6 years ago because the original had rusted through after 2 years. I painted the replacement with Rustoleum and now that to has rusted through. The new one I just received and I'm going cote with epoxy, maybe that will last longer... Question: Why isn't this pan made out of plastic to prevent failure due to rusting?
Deborah April 18, 2020 for Model Number PSW23RSW/PCF23RGW I ordered the part for the drip pan because water was leaking at the bottom of the fridge. I know this is the right part but the video has a different model refrigerator. My GE model has a large extra piece on the left side above the one in the video and it is frozen, and I don't know how to remove it. I'm not sure if just defrosting it would help. I need some assistance in order to remove that part.
1 Answer Deborah, the evaporator cover will have a duct portion that should come off with the evaporator cover. However, if it is frozen up, it would need to be defrosted to safely remove it. The drip pan can then be accessed. However, when replacing the drip pan, it is recommended that the drain port is verified as being clear by pouring hot tap water down the drain hole to ensure it is not clogged up by any residue that may have accumulated from the original drip pan. John I October 14, 2018 for Model Number GE Refrigerator CSCP5UGXAFSS GE Refrigerator CSCP5UGXAFSS has water under crispers in bottom of refrigerator. I bought a new drain trough model wr17x11843 from you and installed. The old pan was rusted thru. It still leaks water under the crispers. Any thoughts? Thank you, John
1 Answer John, This issue sounds likely that the drain is clogged for the refrigerator side or the water reservoir is leaking. Read More...
Jackson S August 09, 2017 for Model Number TBX22PRYGLAA Top Freezer; water is dripping inside refrigerator section and collecting on shelves and under crisper drawers. Although I had removed the drain line and cleaned it thoroughly last year; rechecked but it is completely open. Suspect rusted out drain trough. Are there videos or directions for accessing this and replacing it, if necessary? Could there be any other causes? (It only drips for a short time every other day or so, meaning it is not the water supply for ice.)
1 Answer Jackson, It would be more likely that the drain trough WR17X2243 would be clogged with ice rather than rusted (although this is possible). Unfortunately there are no videos showing how to replace. You would tilt the evaporator out and the trough should be screwed to the back wall of the unit. Read More...
