Deborah for Model Number PSW23RSW/PCF23RGW I ordered the part for the drip pan because water was leaking at the bottom of the fridge. I know this is the right part but the video has a different model refrigerator. My GE model has a large extra piece on the left side above the one in the video and it is frozen, and I don't know how to remove it. I'm not sure if just defrosting it would help. I need some assistance in order to remove that part.
Answer Deborah, the evaporator cover will have a duct portion that should come off with the evaporator cover. However, if it is frozen up, it would need to be defrosted to safely remove it. The drip pan can then be accessed. However, when replacing the drip pan, it is recommended that the drain port is verified as being clear by pouring hot tap water down the drain hole to ensure it is not clogged up by any residue that may have accumulated from the original drip pan.
