Joe March 11, 2012 for Model Number JGBP90MEB5BC Our GE Profile gas oven (10 yrs old) takes very long to preheat (40+ minutes) and cook. The broiler works fine. We took the pan off the bottom to see the burner and saw that the flame is very low when the bake option is on, barely visible. Recently the burner is not lighting, glow stick red, yet we could smell gas. I expect the problem is the gas control valve for the lower burner, but would like some advice.
1 Answer Hello Joe. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control valve WB19K36 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Cb416 December 06, 2011 for Model Number JGB920SEF1SS First; Thanks for your great advice and quick delivery of a new regulator and ignitor this past Summer. I received the parts in two days and had the oven working like new the third day. New problem; I have detected a faint gas smell coming from the oven, more specifically the gas distribition tube in the bottom center of the oven. I have checked all my connections at the regulator and they are not leaking. The stove is 12 years old. Could the shut off valve be worn??
1 Answer Hello CB416. Use some leak detector and see if you can locate the leak. If it is coming from the valve WB19K36, you will need to replace the valve assembly. Hope this helps. Read More...
