Lawrence for Model Number LG DLEX3001W

I have the very common problem with this LG Dryer that the lint filter and filter cover catches clothes based on its bad design. I understand that LG has redesigned the parts and that for a "full fix" three parts are recommended: filter (ADQ56656401), filter cover (MCK49049101) and filter guide (MEA49050001). In my case the first two parts are actually broken. My questions are as follows: (1) Do I really need to replace the filter guide as well, or will it work if I just replace the two other parts. (2) I have read several stories from people saying this fix is relatively easy (30 minutes), but I've also read that this fix requires taking the entire front panel off the dryer, which doesn't seem like an easy fix to me. Is it possible to do this fix without taking the front panel off? If not, do you have a video that will show me how to do this?

1 Answer

Lawrence, I would suggest replacement of all three parts to fix your issue. You will need to remove the front panel for all replacement parts except the filter.
