The Hinge is an OEM replacement part for LG top-loading washing machines. This hinge allows the washing machine lid to open and close smoothly. One hinge is included in this pack. The hinges are held on by six screws.

Causes of failure can include general wear and fatigue from years of opening and shutting the lid. The connecting bracket may also become misshapen due to excessive weight loads.

Symptoms denoting worn hinges include:

  • Difficulty lifting or controlling the lid's movement
  • Grinding noises and sounds of strain coming from hinged areas
  • Lids left ajar or not sitting completely flush after opening

This OEM LG part is also compatible with some Sears/Kenmore model washing machines.

Bob, the lid will need to be lifted up to access the hinge panel located at the bottom of the lid on each side. The hinge panel can be removed using a small flat screwdriver. Once it is removed, there will be three screws holding the hinge in place that will need to be removed to allow the hinge to slide away from the mount, allowing it to be removed and replaced.
