John September 19, 2012 for Model Number LSC27950ST Ice maker dropping silvery dust. My refrigerator has been in storage for a while. I took it out and went through the installation procedure according to the manual. I replaced the filter and ran about 10 glasses of water through it and about 10 cycles of the ice maker. It's been 3 weeks now and the icemaker continues to "shed" a silvery-colored dust. It is in the ice and free in the bin. What is it? Do I need to replace the icemaker?
1 Answer Hello John. Yes, if the mold is loosing it's coating, you will need to replace the icemaker assembly AEQ36756901. Read More...

Md August 31, 2012 for Model Number LFX25960ST Ice maker has stopped making ice. There is frozen water in the maker but it has not dropped into the tray. The green light is on and there are no sounds or heat coming from the ice maker. I turned off the ice maker and I am waiting for the frozen water in the tray to drain and I will then turn the maker on to see what happens. Any other suggestions?
1 Answer Hello MD, This sounds like a thermostat in the ice maker AEQ36756901 has failed. Unfortunately, LG provides no replacement parts for the ice maker. They say to just replace the assembly, so there is no alternative other than ice maker replacement. Read More...
Craig August 18, 2012 for Model Number 5989JB0001A Have a LG ice maker very similar to the one shown. The ice maker makes a clicking noise and it appears to be the ejector arm is stuck and not moving. What can be done to fix the ejector arm?
1 Answer Hello Craig, LG has never made any repair parts available to repair their ice makers. The only thing you can do is replace the ice maker assembly. I would have listed a part number, but I cannot look up a part with out a valid model number. If you would like us to look the part number for you, you can re-post or you can call in and one of our operators will be happy to assist you. Read More...

Alan July 21, 2012 for Model Number AEQ36756901 Bought LG LSC27950ST 3+ years, now the ice maker will not make ice. Ice jammed in bucket, unloaded ice and cleared out drop spout and now ice maker will not make any ice. I/O switch cycled, water level switch cycled (green light rotates)-no water is heard, no ice in tray and no ice is made. Metal level arm is out at 3-oclock position and does not move. Any recommendations before ordering and replacing the ice maker? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Alan, The L.G. is an unusual animal in the sense that nothing at all can be done to the ice maker. No parts are available, no specifications are available, and no factory support. I don't think the good folks at L.G. even know how to fix one. All that can be done is to replace it as an assembly. Anytime cycling the ice maker doesn't energize the water inlet valve, the ice maker has to be replaced. Especially with the bale arm at the three o'clock position, my estimation is that, regardless of whether the water valve is good or bad, the ice maker is in need of replacement. Read More...
Gene July 02, 2012 for Model Number lfx25960st I was getting an ER IF code until I reset the pcb board and now the ice maker is flashing and no water is dispensing and the interior lights are not on. I can hear the fan motor coming on and off and the front panel clicking at the same time, although the freezer and refrigerator appear to be fine.
1 Answer Hello Gene, This sounds to me like a power supply issue. The PWB EBR34917110 is probably the issue. The reason for this conclusion is the fact that the clicking and the fan motor is in sync. The fan 5209JA1044A for the ice maker is the issue that caused the ER IF code so it could either be blocked by ice or it could have just failed, causing the PWB failure. Read More...
Dony June 15, 2012 for Model Number LFX25960ST Another website doesn't show a temperature sensor in my ice bin like yours... I called LG and he said i don't have one in the ice bin either.... The fan is working fine because i can push in the door sensor and the fan blows cold air into the ice bin area also..... So something else has to be going on??? :(
1 Answer Hello Dony. Test the temperature in the unit. If is is not around 0° ice production will not be correct in the unit. You need to check this with a true temp meter like the ones that we offer. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Dony June 15, 2012 for Model Number LFX25960ST I replaced my icemaker with this one and it's not doing any better than the one i had in it..... The water dispenser in the door works fine and what little ice my fridge still makes..... Thoughts???
1 Answer Hello Dony. Test the temperature inside of the ice compartment and see if it is around 0°. If not, you may have a bad temperature sensor 6500JB1008A or a bad fan motor 5209JA1044A in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
