For Lg Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly (Part Number: OEM17847891)

Bill for Model Number LFX25950TT

Trying to fix this Ice Maker. There is water supply to the dispenser on the front of the fridge. The temperature in the ice tray is around 10 degrees. I thought that maybe the "bin full" sensor was bad, so i ordered another maker from you guys. The video was great and the replacement went smoothly. This didn't fix the problem. I tried the reset button, and, several times I have heard the mechanism of the tray dump operating when I walked by the fridge with the door closed. What is left? The control board? Any ideas?

Hello Bill, and thank you for your question. Since the ice maker can be heard running through a harvest cycle, does the water valve hum at the end of the cycle? If it does, the fill tube is likely clogged with ice. In that case, the ice will need to be cleared and the valve 5220JB2008A in the door would need to be replaced. Unfortunately, this valve has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available.

Judy, Thank you for your question. This issue will be the sensor that is on the icemaker but you have to replace the icemaker to correct the issue.

My ice maker stopped dumping ice and gets stuck in the sideways position. I read several things online and watch videos on fixing it. I purchased the AEQ73110210 ice maker assembly replacement, installed it according to the video but the new one is doing the exact same thing. Filling with water, making ice, and getting stuck. When I power cycle it, it dumps the ice fine. Any other recommendations? Now I can't return the replacement even though it doesn't solve the problem???

Hello Melissa, thank you for contacting AppliancePartsPros.com This could be an issue with the unit not reading the ice bin being properly in place, the sensors for this are built into the ice maker assembly that you already replaced, which leaves us with either a wiring issue through the door ADD74236501 or a bad user interface board EBR72955426.

Edward, If you will separate the ice maker from the panel it is attached to you will find the original part number stamped on the back of the ice maker. There are different versions of this unit that use different part numbers.

Jacob for Model Number AEQ73110210

I currently have a Kenmore refrigerator with ice maker model number AEQ73110208. This product is discontinued and the model AEQ73110210 replaced it. I noticed that the connectors are different. The old model went from 2 connectors, a 6 pin square and a 8 pin flat. To the new model, a 3 pin and a 20 pin. How do I re-wire these connectors? or is there a ice maker model AEQ73110210 that has the old connectors (6 pin square and 8 pin flat)?? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Refrigerator model # 795.70323.310 Is there any videos or information that would be useful on where to place these wires in the new connectors or what order they need to be in?

1 Answer

Jacob, the wire connections in the motor module are attached with plastic connectors that would only fit in specific placements. Unfortunately, there is not a video available at this time to assist with this.
