Craig December 09, 2018 for Model Number LSC27590SW Had power outage and when power came back on fridge still off. I unplugged it plugged back in and it started back up. Worked fine for a about a week then shut off for no reason. Unplugged and plugged back in and worked for about a day. Now power only stays on for a few minutes tops. I checked the main board and fuse is fine, everything else looks fine however one of the capacitors has a very slight bulge on the top, it's a 400w 68uf capacitor. Like I said when I unplug and plug back in the fridge kicks on, I can hear clicking noises from the circuits on the board. Could it be the capacitor that is going bad or do you think possibly overload protector or thermister?
1 Answer Craig, Whenever a component or tracer on a PC board is discolored, distorted, or damaged, you need to start by replacing the PCB. A "bulging" capacitor would indicate a problem, and when attempting to discharge the stored power it may or may not work properly, and/or once discharged, it wont recover and will not supply the power to the circuit. Replace the control board, if there is a problem, then diagnose the remainder of the circuits. Read More...
Scott March 24, 2018 for Model Number LFX25971ST I have a LG fridge that cools but I hear a clicking sound (like a relay) that keeps happening and the compressor starts about 1 in 6 times. The compressor is running cool to the touch and I keep the coils and fan blades clean. Just wondering if this could be the compressor is wearing out or the overload protector, start relay, start capacitor or some combination is bad? Thanks for any advice you may have. Scott
1 Answer Scott, This issue would most likely be caused by a overload and relay that would need to be replaced. Read More...
Janet February 12, 2018 for Model Number LFX25971ST Had a clicking sound coming from back of refrigerator. Thinking it could be start relay so ordered and received part 6749C-0014E. Part has been confirmed as correct, but is not compatible in looks or function to what is currently installed on our refrigerator. Would ordering part 6750C-0004R work with above referenced part to make for a compatible replacement?
1 Answer Hello Janet. 6749C-0014E is the relay and 6750C-0004R is the overload for your model number provided. Thank you. Read More...
Fred August 30, 2017 for Model Number LDC22720SW Overload Protector AP4651578 on LG Refrigerator LDC22720SW: where/how do I install this? Is there a picture showing where it is installed? lg-overload-protector-6750c-0004r-ap4651578.html on your website Thanks
1 Answer Fred, On the side of the compressor is where the overload protector will go. There are 3 pins on the compressor and will be in a triangle pattern. The triangle will either be with point up or down. This point that is up or down is where the overload will go on the compressor. Read More...
Dave June 07, 2015 for Model Number LFX21971ST I would like to replace the overload and start relay on the compressor. The one I am replacing seem to be one solid unit with the two relays integrated together with a capacitor plugged into them . The replacements on your site seem to be separate units. wondering if these are compatible. ??
1 Answer Dave, Yes the separate overload and relay would be used in place of the one piece relay and to wire it you will connect the black wire to the overload protector (Which is the single terminal white piece) and the blue will go to the relay. Read More...
Mindy August 20, 2014 for Model Number lrsc2690tt I'm trying to figure out what the "overload protector" does. It sounds like it might be some sort of fuse? I'm trying to figure out which part to order. After attempting to put a light bulb in (wrong bulb) all my lights blew out and I than realized I also had no water/ice dispensing, now although I hear a fan running my frig/freezer isn't working either. There was some sort of code on the display but I didnt pay much attention to it, I decided to unplug the unit to see if it would reset and lost the code. After doing some research I'm thinking or hoping this overload protector my have blown? or possibly a relay? worse case the main control board? I would think there would be some sort of fuse to blow before your entire frig fries!Although I'm finding LG products to have some serious design flaws so who knows. Any advice would be appreciated. Mindy
1 Answer Mindy, The overload protector is to keep the compressor from overheating and would have nothing to do with the issue you are having. The most likely cause for the unit would be a faulty main control board. Read More...
