For Lg Air Conditioner Main Control Board (Part Number: OEM18708447)

Lankford for Model Number LW1516ERY7

The air conditioner did not go out all at once. It wouldn't come one, and then it would. Finally it completely stopped and there were no lights working on the display. I bought the main control board from you (EBR83604004 ) and installed it. Troubles over, worked fine. After I made the installation I noticed the small fuse on the board was blown on the one I took out. We ran the unit for a few hours and my wife decided to change the fan speed. She said it made a funny noise and then it quit, as dead as a hammer. No display or anything. I pulled it back out and checked the fuse, and it had blown like the other card. I can find not obstruction to keep the fan from turning, and wondered if you might have some idead what is going on. Thanks for any help you can give.

Lankford, based on the information provided, it sounds like there is a failure in the fan motor 4681A20043S speed windings that is causing an excessive current draw and blowing out the fuse.

Ricatic, based on the information provided, the sealed system is overheating which can be caused by excessive temperatures from direct sunlight or if the sealed system is failing. If the compressor is not operating during the hottest portion of the day, it would likely be from direct sunlight exposure which can usually be corrected by using an awning to shade the unit.
