The Sensor Assembly is an OEM part for LG washing machines. This component is crucial for detecting and monitoring various conditions within the washing machine, such as water level, temperature, and load balance. It ensures the machine operates efficiently and effectively by providing accurate data to the control board.

Causes of a bad sensor assembly can include wear and tear from regular use, exposure to water and detergents, electrical malfunctions, or damage from impact. A faulty sensor assembly can lead to incorrect readings, which can affect the washing machine’s performance and lead to issues such as improper water levels or unbalanced loads.

Symptoms of a bad Sensor Assembly include:

  • Incorrect water levels during cycles
  • The washing machine stopping mid-cycle or not completing cycles
  • Error codes related to water level or load balance
  • The machine failing to start or operate correctly

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

James, You will want to make sure that the unit is level. If it has become unlevel it can trigger the UE error code. Also check to make sure that the rods are in place properly and not damaged.

Pamela for Model Number WT5001CW

The washing machine fills to capacity on every load, even the smallest load gets a full tub of water. While it is full of water and washing it grinds, groans, and sometimes moans seeming to have trouble agitating. Once it drains and gets to the spin cycle it has no trouble spinning and finishes the load just fine. We already replaced the hall sensor after dealing with the LE error code. Getting no new codes now, but definitely using too much water and not washing smoothly. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello Lee. That does not sound like either part. That sounds like the MCU control board EBR32268019 on the unit. You can try to use the tech sheet to run diagnostics. It is located on the unit.

Caroline for Model Number LG Tromm WD-12580BD

Hello, I am experiencing the LE number. The machine has been cleaned, the pump checked and it is fine, but the LE will not go away. So, I think I need to order this part (or a part) to replace a sensor for my model as shown in the Model Number field, to be flown to Ecuador where the machine was purchased. I need to make sure this is the correct part for my machine, as it will cost an additional $40 to ship it in. It looks like exactly what I need, but when I type in my model number, it says it is not compatible. Please advise if this is the correct part, or if I need another part. Thank you so kindly, Caroline

Hello Caroline. LOCKED MOTOR ERROR • The connector (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS is not connected to the connector (3-pin, female, white) of STATOR ASSEMBLY. • The electric contact between the connectors (3-pin, male, white) in the MOTOR HARNESS and 4-pin, female, white connector in the MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is bad or unstable. • The MOTOR HARNESS between the STATOR ASSEMBLY and MAIN PWB ASSEMBLY is cut (open circuited). • The hall sensor is out of order/defective. The model number you provided WD-12580BD is an international model and we have no way of looking up parts for those. Sorry.

Lori, You will want to make sure that you got the bolt on the rotor that goes into the shaft tight. It may be necessary to put some Loctite on the threading because it could have backed out.
