The Sensor Assembly is an OEM part for LG washing machines. This component is crucial for detecting and monitoring various conditions within the washing machine, such as water level, temperature, and load balance. It ensures the machine operates efficiently and effectively by providing accurate data to the control board.

Causes of a bad sensor assembly can include wear and tear from regular use, exposure to water and detergents, electrical malfunctions, or damage from impact. A faulty sensor assembly can lead to incorrect readings, which can affect the washing machine’s performance and lead to issues such as improper water levels or unbalanced loads.

Symptoms of a bad Sensor Assembly include:

  • Incorrect water levels during cycles
  • The washing machine stopping mid-cycle or not completing cycles
  • Error codes related to water level or load balance
  • The machine failing to start or operate correctly

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

Renee, You will want to unplug the unit when the water will not stop and see if the water stops flowing. If the water stops then the issue will be with most likely the pressure switch. If the water does not stop then the issue will be the water valve. The pressure switch part number is 6600FA1704X and the water valve is 5220FR2008C.

Michelle, You will want to test the power coming into the unit at the noise filter and make sure that there is 120 vac going into and out of the noise filter. If there is power going in but not out then you would want to replace the noise filter. If there is power in and out then test the main control board to make sure that there is power to the board. If this checks ok then it sounds like the control board is faulty.

Tommy, There are 2 springs that go at the top of the tub and attach to the cabinet, you will want to make sure that these springs are in the correct position as they can cause the unit to get off balance. Also check the shocks on the unit to make sure that they are in place properly and not damaged.

Lynn, The PE error code represents that the pressure switch has either a bad connection or has failed. Check the connections at the pressure switch and at the blue 4 pin connector at the main board. Test the pressure switch in test mode. If the initial reading is less than 60 or more than 104 the switch has failed and must be replaced.
